Electronics Technician Maintenance I and II (ETM I and II) - No Clearance required 

 

GDIT is seeking qualified candidates for Digital Range Training System (DRTS) Electronics Technician Maintenance in support of the Warfighter Training Readiness Solution (W-TRS) Contract, formally known as ATMP. 

 

DRTS program is the enabler of range modernization for tactical vehicle training. DRTS provides the infrastructure and instrumentation for Abrams, Bradley, Stryker, and Aviation platform live-fire gunnery training and qualifications and the ability to conduct Combined Arms Live Fire Exercises (CALFEX). 

GDITs ETM will report to the Range Team Leads and is responsible for ensuring Army standard of maintenance for all DRTS non-IT equipment, and that communication is maintained between the Player Unit (PU) and the DRTS systems during a training event.

HOW CAN ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN MAINTENANCE MAKE AN IMPACT:  

Primary Responsibilities 

 

Operate workstations including AAR, range target and instrumentation. 

Conduct PMCS of non-IT DRTS equipment. 

Assist Tech III with repairs of non-IT DRTS equipment 

Apply standard operating or corrective procedures in response to computer output instructions or error conditions; referring issues that require further troubleshooting to the Team Lead 

Install and Deinstall PU on proper military vehicles and DRTS equipment. 

Construct and install target frames 

Repair and replenish damaged targets 

Reestablish failed communication with down range equipment 

Conduct ground maintenance around all target pits, buildings, and service areas.  

Use MIS maintenance control program to open work orders (W/Os) and order needed parts. 

Install and Deinstall PU on the proper military vehicles and targets. 

Reestablish failed communication with down range equipment. 

Monitor and ensure PUs stay in communication with DRTS systems. 

Report acquisition of supplies, equipment, and parts weekly to Team Lead 

Conduct an inspection and inventory of all assigned equipment before and after each live fire-training event for accountability and serviceability. 

Supports the required GDIT/W-TRS cross training plan to support other W-TRS TADSS on instillation. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED: 

Security Clearance Level: None 

US Citizenship Required 

Education: AA or 2 years equivalent 

Required Experience: 2+ years of related experience Managing US Army DRTS EQUIPMENT/ranges, Military experience preferred 

Required Technical Skills: Technical expertise in ranges systems, equipment. and range maintenance.   Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security practices 

Experienced in US army doctrine live-fire gunnery training and qualifications, combined arms live fire exercises, and After Action Review (AAR) capabilities. 

Ability to learn the W-TRS Management Information System (MIS) for controls/recording all work orders and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) property control 

Required Skills and Abilities: Superb communication skills.  Ability to document and report on technical issues and solutions 

Attends daily range safety briefings are conducted each morning 

Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.  

Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid CDL Class C state driver’s license and post driving privileges 

Location: On Customer Site 

Must be able to travel up to 25% of time.
