Instrumentation Labs
Bring your enthusiasm and ideas to perform precision applications of strain gages from detailed instructions. You will also setup, operate, and maintain specialized instrumentation data acquisition systems. In the Instrumentation Labs we provide the various programs decision-quality measurements. In this group you will work with many programs across in a wide range of product life cycles to ensure our aircraft can operate safely and efficiently. You will work with established products like V-22, aircraft that are being tested for certifications like 525, new programs like MV-75, emerging products like SPRINT, and the development projects that will shape the future of flight. With a healthy mix of electrical and mechanical experience, we figure out how to get the measurements these programs need and execute those plans.
What you’ll be doing as an Electronics Technician – Instrumentation Labs
Work from drawings and procedures to install and wire strain gagesWork independently from drawings to fabricate electronic circuits and wiring harness assembliesOperate basic test equipment including, DMM, oscilloscope, and function generatorProperly handle and safeguard critical test componentsWe’re more than aviation experts, we’re pioneers. Associate degree in electronics or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience—such as a high school diploma (or equivalent) plus two years of electronics experience.Understanding of strain gages and/or other similar electronic sensors used in testingFamiliarity with reading engineering drawings, transducer installation and calibration, or DC circuit troubleshootingMust be certified (J-STD) or otherwise have solder skillsWillingness to work in a team environment with customers and with other functional disciplinesSignificant travel, shift work, and overtime may be required based on business needsAble to lift 50 pounds and work on scaffolding (aircraft parts in the lab)Have own set of hand tools ability to use effectivelyWhat we offer you in return
