Job Description
Interact with space avionics subsystem design teams, including electrical, mechanical, software, and network, to plan, implement, and execute test campaigns for subsystem development, qualification, and acceptance testing. Develop comprehensive test campaigns, plans, and procedures, including schedules, resource identification, test architecture definition, and detailed test flow. Define and architect electrical ground support equipment needed for the unit under test.
ResponsibilitiesProcure test support equipment and facilities by interacting with vendors and supply chain, including environmental testing facilities for thermal vacuum, vibration, and EMI/EMC testing.Develop test events, detailed test descriptions, and procedures to support subsystem requirement verifications.Create test scripts to automate testing and link telemetry to existing tools using APIs (SCPI programming).Assemble and integrate subsystems under test and support equipment, including hardware, software, test scripts, data loggers, and user interface tools, and execute tests per approved test plans and procedures.Summarize and present test results and findings to Engineering teams.Perform failure and anomaly investigations of test cases to determine root causes.Essential SkillsSystems engineering and requirements management.Experience writing test plans and creating test scripts with Python.Experience with space hardware and environmental test standards.Familiarity with space hardware environmental testing standards such as SMC-S-016, NASA's GSFC-STD-7000, MIL-STD-461G.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to interact with space avionics subsystem design teams.Procurement of test support equipment and facilities.Experience in defining and architecting electrical ground support equipment.Work Environment
The position requires working onsite in Northridge, CA. The role involves working on low orbiting satellite payload development projects, providing an exciting and dynamic work environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
