Electronics Engineer

The National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC IV) program at Leidos is seeking an Electronics Engineer to provide support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) located in Des Plaines, IL.
 
Office Location - Des Plaines IL

Travel - Up to 25%

You will be taking equipment out of shelters and other structures and assist in its repairs, putting back together telecom type equipment. Design experience required.


Duties may include, but not limited to:

The research, development, and implementation of either satellite-based navigation, ground-based NavAids or visual/lighting systems. These navigation systems are required for establishing and maintaining safe, efficient and cost-effective operations in the National Airspace System.

Conduct complex independent and inter-dependent engineering studies (i.e., feasibility, life-cycle costing, efficiency, risk analysis, cost benefit, and other engineering economic studies.) and brief upper management/stake holders on a regular basis.

Provides guidance and instructions in the design, development, and delivery of navigation systems.
Analyze customer needs to determine the costs, capacity and requirements for creating an electrical system plan.

Inspects electronic systems, instruments and equipment to ensure they meet applicable regulations and safety standards.

Recommends design modifications and equipment repair.
 
Basic qualifications to be considered:
•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering and 4+ year of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2+ years of prior relevant experience or equivalent.
•    Experience doing complex engineering economic studies.
•    Experience inspecting electronic systems.

•    Design experience.
•    Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
•    Ability to travel up to 25-35% of the time.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
•    Prior FAA experience desired.
•    Knowledge/Experience of Airports desired.
 
 

Targeted salary will be $105,000.00 - $115,00.00, based on experience.

Pay Range:Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
