Electronic Technician

Builds and wires wall-sized industrial control panels and subassemblies to print in a high-mix manufacturing environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

3+ years industrial control panel wiring or related electrical assembly experience

Ability to read/interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, BOMs, and work orders

Proficiency with point-to-point wiring, wire prep (strip, crimp, ferrule), labeling, and routing to panel standards

Hands-on experience installing PLCs, relays, terminal blocks, power supplies, lights, switches, and I/O devices

Skilled with hand and power tools: wire strippers, crimpers, screwdrivers, nut drivers, wrenches, drills, taps

Ability to drill/tap holes, cut openings, and perform panel layout per drawings

Basic metalwork operations: deburring, grinding, sawing

Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate pallet jacks for material movement

Familiarity with electrical safety, LOTO, and panel grounding/bonding practices

Preferred Skills

UL 508A panel build standards and documentation practices

Experience with VFDs, servo drives, motor starters, and control transformers

Conduit bending, cable tray, and field terminations

Red-line updates and initiating ECOs; exposure to change control processes

CAD literacy for panel drawings (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar)

Quality inspection against workmanship standards (e.g., torque, pull tests, continuity, megger/hi-pot as applicable)

Responsibilities

Wire and build electrical control panels, junction boxes, and subassemblies per customer requirements and prints

Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and bills of material

Drill and tap holes to mount control units and create openings for components, wiring, and instrumentation

Complete point-to-point wiring and install a wide variety of components including PLCs, relays, pilot devices, and switches

Red-line documentation and submit updates to initiate engineering change orders (ECOs)

Perform deburring, grinding, and sawing; move materials using hand pallet jacks

Install finished assemblies and subassemblies into cases and wall-size cabinets

Conduct self-inspection and assist with functional checks to verify workmanship and conformity to standards



Pay Details: $20.00 to $26.00 per hour
