The general role of a Technician II – Electronic Security and Safety is to respond to first level support of service requests and field installation such as troubleshooting and repairing cabling systems and equipment. This will include electronic security, access control, and fire alarm systems along with other related electrical systems.


This position must be flexible and willing to travel with occasional overnight stays and work extended hours as needed. The Technician II will report to the Department Manager – Electronic Security and Safety and will work primarily out of their assigned location.

What You'll Do Analyze blueprints, schematics and drawings of network, fire, security and/or other related electrical systemsInstall electronic security products such as cameras, NVRS, DVRS, access control, intercoms, gate operators, fire alarm systems, and networksInstall EMT and rigid conduitInspect electrical, security, fire and networking systems and their components for possible repairs or maintenanceInstall electrical system components as assigned (i.e. panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations, detectors, switches, cameras, servers, card readers, etc.)Prepare written materials to document activities and/or convey informationRemain detail oriented and methodical when troubleshootingWork patiently and maintain positive communication with customersRespond to emergency situations as neededAssist in training Technician I’s What You'll Bring 1-year relevant experience in commercial/industrial electronic security solutions requiredProficient in 1 or more: fire alarm, video surveillance, or access control in the fieldValid driver’s license requiredAbility to recognize colorsAbility to read blueprintsAbility to use a variety of basic hand and power toolsBasic knowledge of Fiber Optics preferredWillingness to obtain and maintain relevant manufacturer training coursesStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers and customersPrevious customer service experience preferredMust be dependable, trustworthy, and possess a positive and productive attitudePossess a working knowledge of computers and serversAbility to work independently and with co-workers

Working Conditions

Walk, crawl, talk, see, read, hear, feel, sit, stand, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, grasp and climb with both hands and legs for extended periods of time
Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
Climb at heights of 300’+ for extended periods of time
Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
