Electronic Repair & Maintenance Technician
The **Electronic R&M Technician II** plays a critical role in the hands-on inspection, repair, and maintenance of Weatherford's field tools and equipment. Utilizing the company's facilities, machinery, and systems, the technician applies intermediate-level techniques and practices to carry out tasks related to the full scope of equipment maintenance. This includes receiving, dismantling, repairing, refurbishing, and preparing tools for their next assignment, in accordance with technical manuals, work instructions, and procedures. As an intermediate-level role, the R&M Technician II operates with greater independence than entry-level technicians, handling more complex repairs and tasks with minimal supervision. In addition to performing routine and preventive maintenance, the technician contributes to process improvements and ensures adherence to safety and quality standards. While not in a supervisory role, the R&M Technician II may provide informal guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, helping them develop their skills. **Roles and Responsibilities:** SAFETY, SECURITY & COMPLIANCE + Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with Company’s Security, Compliance & HSE policies, Management System, relevant laws, regulations, standards, and industry practices and complies with the Company’s Rules to Live By + Places Quality, Health & Safety, Security and protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers or the communities in which we live and work at risk + Seeks continual improvement in Health, Safety, Security & protection of the Environment, taking into account responsible care, process vulnerabilities, public, customer and employee inputs, knowledge and technology and best business practices to exceed customer expectations QUALITY + Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford’s Management System + Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement OPERATIONS **Daily Operations and Safety Participation** + Actively participate in all daily operations and safety meetings, including toolbox talks and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), providing insights and contributing to safety discussions. + Proactively identify and report safety or operational issues using appropriate tools and take initial corrective actions with minimal supervision. **Maintaining Work Areas** + Independently maintain equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition, ensuring compliance with safety standards. + Help oversee work area organization and mentor less experienced technicians on best practices for maintaining safe and efficient workspaces. **Intermediate-Level Repairs** + Perform more complex repairs on machines or equipment using hand tools and power tools with minimal supervision. + Confidently use precision measuring instruments and electrical/electronic testing devices to troubleshoot and resolve issues, independently diagnosing root causes. **Inspection of Parts** + Independently inspect used parts to identify wear or damage, using advanced measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers. + Provide recommendations for part replacements or repairs based on inspection findings, and guide less experienced technicians in basic inspection procedures. **Maintenance Processes** + Perform and lead maintenance procedures, including unloading, cleaning, and visual inspection of tools and equipment, ensuring all tasks follow established procedures. **Documentation and Reporting** + Independently initiate and update forms, checklists, and work orders during maintenance tasks, ensuring accuracy and completeness. + Ensure compliance with time tracking using the WO (Work Order) Time tracking system, and assist less experienced team members in properly managing their documentation. **Handling and Moving Equipment** + Safely operate tools and advanced lifting equipment to move machinery and equipment to and from storage areas or vehicles, ensuring proper handling and compliance with safety guidelines. **Other Duties** + Perform additional tasks assigned by supervisors, demonstrating initiative in managing more complex assignments and ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard. + Mentor and guide less experienced technicians, providing on-the-job training and feedback to support their development and enhance team performance. COMMUNICATION + Where required, will report all equipment failures and troubleshooting requirements to the R&M Management + Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external **Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:** + **2-4+ years of experience** in the Oil & Gas industry as an R&M Technician, with demonstrated competence in routine repairs and maintenance tasks. **Electronic / Electro Mechanical Technician experience is preferred.** + **Equipment Handling** : Developing ability to perform basic maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment under supervision. + **Reading and Writing Skills** : Ability to read and follow technical manuals, procedures, and safety documentation. + **Basic Mathematics** : Understanding basic mathematical concepts for measurements and equipment maintenance. + **Critical Thinking and Active Learning** : Ability to follow instructions, apply active learning, and demonstrate critical thinking in solving simple problems. + **Time Management** : Demonstrates punctuality and ability to manage tasks within assigned timelines. + **Physical Capability** : Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including manual handling and operating tools and machinery. + **Problem Recognition** : Basic skills in identifying potential problems during tasks and escalating them to supervisors for resolution. + **Tool Handling and Assembly** : Developing ability to understand how tools and products should be assembled, repaired, or modified through guided learning and practice. + **Teamwork and Communication:** Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors.
