What this job involves:

This internship position provides comprehensive hands-on training and development for individuals pursuing a career in commercial and industrial electrical systems. Working alongside JLL's experienced electricians, you'll gain practical skills in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting while supporting our facilities management teams. This role offers a structured learning path to understand electrical systems in commercial buildings, safety protocols, code compliance, and modern electrical technologies in a professional environment.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

Learn to properly use testing equipment such as multimeters, ammeters, and voltage testers to diagnose electrical issuesAssist with inspecting, testing, and maintaining electrical distribution systems, lighting, power outlets, and equipment connectionsHelp install and maintain building electrical systems including lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, transformers, and control panelsParticipate in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentationDocument electrical work performed, materials used, and system modifications in facility management systemsSupport energy efficiency initiatives through learning about LED retrofits, lighting controls, and efficient electrical system designAttend regular safety training and strictly adhere to electrical safety protocols and National Electrical Code (NEC) standardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand how electrical systems integrate with other building infrastructure componentsParticipate in comprehensive safety and electrical training programs, both in production environments and classroom settings, to ensure compliance with industry standards and workplace safety protocols

Desired experience and technical skills:

Requirements:

Currently enrolled in or recently completed education in electrical technology, electrical engineering, or related technical fieldBasic understanding of electrical theory and electrical safety practicesStrong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitudeGood mathematical skills and attention to detailAbility to follow detailed instructions and safety protocolsPhysical capability to work in various positions and environments (ladders, confined spaces, etc.)Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred:

Previous experience or exposure to electrical work in residential, commercial, or industrial settingsFamiliarity with electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA)Basic computer skills for documentation and digital systemsKnowledge of building automation or control systemsExperience reading electrical schematics or technical diagramsOSHA 10-hour certification or other relevant safety trainingInterest in pursuing apprenticeship or certification in the electrical field
