As an Electrician, you will be Trade Qualified as an Electrical Fitter or Electric Fitter/Mechanic. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining, overhauling and repairing heavy equipment while ensuring our workshop operates efficiently and effectively.

You’ll be involved in an interesting array of work, across a diverse range of customers and work types, including:

Mobile heavy earthmoving equipment, including truck components and wheel motors

Fixed plant, including Washplant and conveyor motors and components

Field equipment, including Draglines

Rail equipment, including bogies, traction motors and diverse rail componentry

Key responsibilities:

Proven experience in fault diagnosis and repair within heavy machinery i.e. AC and DC electric motors

Competent in usage of measuring equipment

Skills in organizing and planning work to ensure smooth operations.

Practical abilities in basic welding and the use of gas cutting torches and burners.

Ability to mechanically inspect electric motors

Strong focus on maintaining a well-equipped workshop, including managing and updating critical spares lists.

Keenness to work in a self-led environment, where you have a say and input to the work you do, supported by a depth of technical support from our Project Leads and Engineering Teams

About you:

To excel in this role, we’re looking for someone who brings the following skills and attributes to the table:

Trade Qualified Electrical Fitter certification.Preferred qualifications include High-Risk Work Licenses (LF, DG, RB/RI).Valid Driver's License (mandatory).HR Truck License (desirable but not essential).

Assist tradespeople by positioning and holding metal stock or products to enable work to be carried out; Hand tools to tradespeople, and hold tools not immediately required; Perform assembly and dismantling operations, such as screwing and bolting; Transport tools, materials and work pieces to and from sites or workbenches; Clean and prepare working surfaces Operate grinders, jack hammers etc as instructed Trade Assistants may specialise as boilermaker's assistants, fitters' assistants.

Requirements

Minimum 3 months experience on a maintenance site preferred but not essential Elevated Work Platform Ticket preferred but not essential 'C' Class Drivers License Able to perform duties, maintaining high standards in both Safety and Quality.
