Electrician / Instrumentation Technician - Water Treatment
Job Summary: This is a temporary position for the period of June through mid-November 2025. The Electrician / Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems within a water treatment facility. This includes support for water management infrastructure across multiple treatment ponds and a surface land application system used to discharge treated water. The role also encompasses maintenance of low-voltage solar power systems, battery storage units, and remote networked sensors. Key Responsibilities: + Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and control panels for water treatment operations. + Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation and monitoring equipment used for water quality, flow, and system performance. + Service and maintain low-voltage solar power systems and battery storage units that supply power to remote network devices and sensors. + Maintain data loggers, and other networked communication devices. + Inspect and maintain electrical infrastructure for multiple evaporation ponds, pumping stations, and land application systems. + Ensure all electrical and instrumentation work complies with safety regulations and electrical codes. + Document maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs; assist with system upgrades and modifications. + Collaborate with operators, engineers, and IT/network personnel to support system functionality and data integrity. Qualifications: + High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or technical certification in electrical, electronics, or instrumentation preferred. + Minimum of 2 years' experience with electrical or instrumentation systems, preferably in a water or wastewater treatment environment. + Experience with solar power systems, low-voltage DC circuits, and battery backup systems. + Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, and telemetry systems. + Ability to read wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and instrumentation schematics. + Valid driver's license + Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Working Conditions: + Work involves both indoor and outdoor environments, including remote or confined areas. + Stand, walk, bend, and perform manual labor for extended periods. + May involve working with high and low voltage systems, ladders, and exposure to treated and untreated water.
