Electrician II

Marine Electrician
Responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electromechanical equipment in shipboard and government facility environments.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or vocational training in electrical trade.

Minimum 5 years of marine electrician experience with energized circuit work.

Understanding of AC and DC electrical theory, power generation, control, and distribution.

Familiarity with NAVSEA Standard Items.

Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, layouts, and system diagrams.

Competence in at least two of the following:

Copper multi-pin connector assembly/repair

Fiber optic connector assembly/testing/troubleshooting

Soldering of electrical/electronic components

Electrical diagram design and drawing

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) handling/workmanship

U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain Secret-level security clearance.

Ability to access military/government installations worldwide.

Willingness and ability to travel.

Preferred Skills

Experience with MILSPEC standards and technical documentation.

Knowledge of shipboard and shore-based power distribution systems.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, overhaul, and modify shipboard and shop-based electrical/electromechanical systems and components.

Troubleshoot and repair motor controllers, control panels, and power distribution systems.

Conduct electrical testing with multimeters, meggers, ampmeters, and load banks.

Assemble and test multi-pin connectors and fiber optic connections.

Install and maintain AC/DC motor brushes, commutators, and slip rings.

Execute and document work in compliance with technical manuals, MILSPECs, and work packages.

Provide field service support including grooms, checkouts, and minor repairs.

Adhere to NAVSEA Standard Items and enforce compliance with safety protocols.



Pay Details: $25.00 to $37.00 per hour
