**Electrician** Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Electrician to support the electrical infrastructure of a mission-critical data center. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex electrical systems to ensure continuous uptime and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial power systems and a strong understanding of electrical theory, distribution, and backup systems. Responsibilities + Operate and maintain electrical systems, including server rack level electrical repairs & installations. + Manage Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) and Static Transfer Switches (STS). + Maintain Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and battery banks. + Oversee Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and associated components. + Work with transformers used in industrial applications, such as isolation and step-up/down. + Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on electrical infrastructure. + Monitor and improve power factor to optimize energy efficiency. + Calculate and configure battery strings based on voltage and float requirements. + Implement dual-corded power setups for redundancy. + Troubleshoot both AC and DC voltage systems, understanding their flow and behavior. + Maintain accurate documentation, including one-line diagrams, schematics, and maintenance logs. + Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to ensure electrical reliability and compliance. + Support electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, panels, breakers, and monitoring systems. Essential Skills + Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial or data center electrical systems. + Familiarity with server rack level electrical repairs & installations. + Strong understanding of ATS vs. STS functionality and differences. + Knowledge of static UPS components including rectifier, inverter, bypass, and battery bank. + Understanding of power factor and its role in electrical systems. + Proficiency in AC vs. DC voltage characteristics and flow. + Ability to perform battery string calculations and parallel configurations. + Experience with PDU components and their role in power distribution. + Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, including switchgear and panels, transformers, and power distribution units. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Monitoring Systems (EMS). + Familiarity with NFPA 70E, NEC, and other relevant codes. + Ability to work independently and respond to emergency situations. + Strong communication and documentation skills. Shifts include: Sunday/Tuesday/Wednesday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Sunday/Tuesday/Wednesday from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Tuesday/Wednesday/Saturday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Tuesday/Wednesday/Saturday from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The dress code includes wearing a Type 2 hardhat, hi-vis vests, safety glasses, and steel toes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ridgeville, South Carolina. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.64/hr.
