Collins Aerospace, Systems Engineering Test Equipment, is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern.
The candidate will be responsible for developing test equipment and test setups for development and production of aircraft power generation systems. The Test Equipment group supports both test facilities and programs through the entire life cycle of development to production. This is a job that always has a new challenge as Collins Aerospace continues to invent the future of aircraft electric power systems.
The candidate must be an analytical thinker and be adept at design, build, and checkout of test setups. The candidate must have experience working with instrumentation, data recording, and design of electrical systems and harnesses. This position will function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and will support our system integration test labs through the development of new Test Equipment. The ideal candidate will be a creative member of the team who will assist in developing the vision for upgrading our test equipment to the latest technology. This role is onsite, in Rockford, IL. This role may be eligible for relocation.
What **You** Will Do:
+ You will create electrical schematics to document designs.
+ You will provide Electrical Test Setup support and will do Electrical Test Setup Troubleshooting.
+ You will assist in Facility upgrade projects.
+ Assist in design of Test Stand Safety Interlocks.
+ You will work with Test Operators to coordinate Test Setups.
What **You** Will Learn:
+ You will learn where the Test Equipment team fits within the Collins organization and how we manage other Collins resources and external resources to serve our customers.
+ You will collaborate as a member of the Test Equipment Engineering team to design solutions to meet systems test setup requirements.
+ You will learn to use tools and processes for electrical engineering design, drafting, and export classification as well as material procurement, build instructions, checkout, and testing.
+ You will have opportunities to continue to develop a wealth of hands-on engineering skills in a test lab environment.
+ You will learn common design considerations for physical implementation of machine control and monitoring systems, high speed data acquisition systems, aircraft power and communication systems and much more.
Qualifications **You** Must Have:
+ Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

Qualifications We Prefer:
+ Ability to work with test operators and electricians to modify and setup test equipment.
+ Ability to work on multiple projects.
+ Hands-on experience is a plus.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
