BAE Systems is seeking a Technical Leader in this Electrical Test Engineering Manager role supporting our Aftermarket team within our Controls and Avionics Solutions (CAS) Business location in Fort Wayne, Indiana. As a member of BAE Systems, you will have the opportunity to lead a hands-on team responsible for testing complex electronic controls (e.g. manufacturing, acceptance, and return to service) and solving challenging technical problems that both enhance our products performance and matter to our customers. In this Technical and People leading role , the qualified candidate will be the technical support leader for our Product Test Engineers within the Fort Wayne factory and service center. Responsibilities include: + Develop, implement and manage Operations Product Test Engineering manpower plan that supports both manufacturing and aftermarket program needs in collaboration with Shop Leaders and Program Managers. + Establish high performance standards which promote critical thinking and effective problem-solving mindsets for team members to execute effective component / circuit level troubleshooting and test yield improvements. + Define and communicate team objectives based on business flow down that drive priorities, assignments, and daily performance metrics to accomplish test support responsibilities and needs. + Prepare performance appraisals and other manager outputs (e.g. salary action, timecard review, performance improvement plans, etc.). + Ensure applicable training is provided to staff within work scope, schedule, and budget constraints. Partner internally and externally to develop talent pipelines for technical resources. + Work with cross-functional teams (e.g. Manufacturing, Programs, Engineering, Quality, Sourcing) to continuously improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost of products, processes, and equipment. + Conduct communications meetings to address personnel and project needs, and to convey management decisions. + Maintain knowledge of evolving technologies and support business development activities for application of these technologies in current product lines or derivative products by supporting Engineering / Operations Collaboration events. **Additional Infornation:** Performance in the role requires frequent engagement with Manufacturing, Programs, Engineering, and Quality to support safety, quality, delivery, cost, and product performance. This role requires daily engagement with hands-on team members and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Therefore, an on-site work format is required to perform the role. Some light travel may be required (<10%). **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent with 10 years of related electrical engineering and management experience. + Previous experience in engineering/technical management or project leadership roles. + Demonstrated ability to achieve cost, cycle time, customer and engineering process objectives. + Demonstrated ability to develop, lead, and motivate engineering teams. + Demonstrated ability to integrate and coordinate with other functions and customers. + Experience with analysis and diagnostics down to an electronic component level (e.g. analog, digital, power, and communication) using various laboratory equipment (e.g. power supplies, multimeters, and oscilloscopes) + Demonstrated proficiency in problem solving and critical thinking + Experience with electronics manufacturing, test, and repair processes + Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + MS in Engineering Management or equivalent degree. + Four or more years of engineering management or project leadership experience. + Familiarity with the manufacturing and test of high reliability electronic assemblies and their avionics applications + Experience using complex analytical tools and methods (SPC, 6 Sigma, etc.) + Experience working in a high-paced manufacturing environment + Experience leading and coordinating activities in a technical team of twenty or more people. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $108787 - $184937 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
