Electrical Technician Maintenance II (30th ABCT)

Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES: + Perform services and inspections as required by the technical manual for that equipment. + Inspect equipment for faults, and completeness. + Test equipment to determine operational condition. + Troubleshoot to determine location, and extent of equipment faults. + Repair equipment by adjusting, aligning, repairing, or replacing defective components. + Tests repaired equipment to ensure compliance with technical specifications. + Evacuates equipment and components to higher level repair activities based on the Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC). Prepares appropriate maintenance forms and records. + Logs maintenance in accordance with The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS). + Use Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE), Test Program Sets (TPS), and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) to determine the cause and location of malfunctions, extent of faults, and category of maintenance required. + Safely uses common hand-tools and shop equipment effectively without assistance. + Use facilities management software. + Comply with calibration and shop safety programs. + Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives. + Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements. MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: + Hand tools, special weapons tools, gauges, jigs, alignment devices and web based computer maintenance and inventory programs + Steel Toe shoes are required. + Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas while work is being conducted. Such PPE includes, but is not limited to: Face mask, head, foot, hand, vision and hearing protective devices. + Periodic use of computer systems and multi-function devices (MFD). WORKING ENVIRONMENT: + Work is generally conducted in a shop environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the outdoors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic condition. + Work requires stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolong sitting and occasional working in cramped and awkward position. + Work may be performed in confined spaces + A normal work week is 40 hours (5 days a week). Must be willing to work additional hours when mission requires. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: + Must be able to climb up and down ladders and stairs, as well as bend, twist, and squad for prolonged periods. + Must be able to pull, push and lift up to 50 pounds. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: + High school diploma or equivalent. + At least three (3) to six (6) years of experience in night vision devices/equipment (NVD), military communication equipment and fiber optic systems or an equivalent. + Must be able to successfully pass a pre- employment drug screening. + Must have a valid REAL ID State Driver’s License with no restrictions. + Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC). + Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. + Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport. + Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Bragg Installation. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: + Must be proficient in servicing, troubleshooting and repairing of night vision devices/equipment (NVD), laser and fiber optic systems. + Must be proficient in servicing, troubleshooting and repairing of military communication equipment + Must be familiar with the use of electronic technical manuals. + Working knowledge of GCSS-Army preferred. SUPERVISORY/BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES: + N/A. + Electronic Technician Maintenance II receives guidance and direction as necessary from the CMT Supervisor with regards to policies, directives and professional development.
