We are seeking an experienced Electrical QA/QC Engineer for our client in the oil and gas industry, based in Ras Al Khaimah. The role focuses on ensuring that all electrical works comply with quality standards, project specifications, and safety regulations. The engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing quality plans, reviewing electrical drawings and materials, inspecting installations on site, and overseeing testing and commissioning activities. In addition, the position requires identifying and managing non-conformances and maintaining thorough documentation and reports.
The role also involves close coordination with project teams and stakeholders to promote quality compliance and adherence to industry best practices. Strong expertise in E-houses, prefabricated or modular buildings, and oil and gas work practices is essential. The ideal candidate should also be well-versed in international and local standards such as IEC, NEC, ADNOC, ISO 9001, zone classification, and ATEX standards.
Quality Assurance Responsibilities-
Develop and Implement QA Procedures:
Prepare and implement the Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), MRB, FAT procedure, various types of Checklist & Method Statements. Ensure QA procedures align with client requirements, international standards and local body standards.Review of Design and Documentation:
Check electrical drawings, specifications, and materials/submittal for compliance with project standards. Ensure all materials and equipment meet project and manufacturer specifications.Material Inspection:
Inspect incoming materials and equipment and ensure they have the required certifications (e.g., CoC, Bill of lading, MTC, technical data sheet, etc.). Coordinate with Store, Procurement, and vendors for material compliance.Quality Control Responsibilities-
Site Inspection and Monitoring:
Perform routine site inspections (FAT/SAT/IFAT) for installation of electrical systems (cables, switchgears, panels, grounding systems, lighting, etc.). Monitor construction work to ensure adherence to approved drawings and specifications.Testing and Commissioning:
Witness and document electrical tests (e.g., insulation resistance, continuity, Tug testing, polarity test Etc.) Oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning activities to verify proper system functionality with TPI or Client.Non-Conformance and Corrective Actions:
Identify and log non-conformances (NCRs)/ SOR. Coordinate and monitor corrective and preventive actions until closure.Maintain Quality Records:
Keep records of inspections, tests, NCRs, calibration certificates, MRB and other QA/QC documentation.Prepare Reports:
Generate daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC reports. Submit inspection requests and test reports to consultants or clients. Promote a quality-oriented culture on siteLiaison with Stakeholders:
Coordinate with project managers, Projects engineers, subcontractors, and Client, TPI and consultants. Attend QA/QC meetings and site coordination meetings.Adhere to Standards:
IEC, NEC, IEEE, NFPA. ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) Local electrical codes and regulations. Familiar with Zone Certification/classifications (ATEX & IECEx).
