Job Title: Electrical Pump Technician

Job Description

As a Electrical Pump Technician, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining landfill gas collection and control systems to ensure environmental compliance and optimal performance. This role involves inspecting wells, blowers, and flares, adjusting system settings, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, collecting compliance data, and troubleshooting issues to minimize emissions and odors. The position is full-time and primarily based outdoors, with potential weekend work depending on demand.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repair tasks for Gas Collection & Control System (GCCS) on various landfills and project sites, including pump repair and well maintenance.Replacing, rebuilding and maintaining pump systems and pump stations.Maintain monitoring equipment and report any problems or issues to the Superintendent or Project Manager.Communicate with the customer's on-site staff to perform the work and report any field issues found during monitoring activities.Perform labor for piping and O&M projects as assigned.Assist in construction tasks such as well raising.Participate in flare maintenance activities and learn control systems.Perform surface scanning using a methane analyzer.Assist with pump maintenance and service.Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines.

Essential Skills

High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.Mechanical aptitude and valid driver's license.Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.Experience with electrical panels/systems is a plus.Electrical pump experience is ideal!Experience in field sciences or environmental background preferred.Proficiency in Excel and data management.Safety-oriented with experience working around methane gas.Experience with construction or mechanical work is encouraged.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Safety certifications such as HAZWOPER and confined space entry are a plus.Former military experience is advantageous.Experience with excavators, skid steers, or bobcats is a plus.Willingness to travel and perform field and office work.

Work Environment

This position typically involves working Monday through Friday, with Saturday work in cases of emergencies or client requests. Most duties are performed outdoors at landfill sites, requiring extensive walking of 5-7 miles per day. Initially, technicians will work in teams, but after training, they will operate independently with a company vehicle. The role involves exposure to environmental elements, and candidates should be comfortable with the physical demands and conditions associated with landfill operations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
