Job Description
Our client designs and manufactures turnkey electrical control systems and machinery for all types of applications within the industrial and commercial sectors globally. They are currently seeking an Electrical Project Engineer in the GTA that can bring in value and be a part of our diverse growing team.
In this role, you will be working within a team throughout the lifecycle of small- and large-scale electrical control systems. The role will be heavily based on designing and leading a group of individuals to be able to successfully complete projects and meet the objective.
Position: Electrical Project Engineer
Permanent position after 3 months of probation
Location: Richmond Hill, ON
Payrate: $100, 000 up to $160,000 (DOE)
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Updating and creating drawing systems and panel design through utilizing AutoCAD electrical Developing controls designs and electrical schematics; specifying hardware and components Developing and verify safety systems; understanding the safety risk assessments Troubleshooting electrical/mechanical and fluid power systems Leading and executing a team to mid-sized automation projects Recognizing and diagnosing faults on electrical equipment or systems (complex interlocking, interrelated circuits, integrated systems and complex sequencing) Reading and writing electrical/electronic schematics/diagrams Preparing functional descriptions of process controls and sequence of operations Assisting with the development and support of PLC and HMI programs for use on industrial equipment Aiding customers/co-workers with electrical/designing issues Assist with the specifications for purchase of electrical components RequirementsRequirements:
Minimum requirements are 4+ years doing design in the automation industry. Able to read wiring diagrams, electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics and ladder/function block/ST logic Able to create CAD drawings for assembly and wiring control panels and instrumentation Have working knowledge of industrial PCs and PLCs (Beckhoff, Siemens, AB, etc.) and electric circuits consisting of contractors, relays, main voltage/control voltage, limit switches and proximity sensors, etc. Hands-on experience applying electronics, pneumatics and electro-mechanical devices Knowledge/experience on basic wiring work and general installations Identify causes of problems while developing methods of correction Understanding of VFD, DC and Servo Drive systems Troubleshooting and programming background (Beckhoff/Allen-Bradley/Omron/Siemens PLC's and HMI's) Exposure to SCADA/motion control and to various automation processes (automotive, food and beverage, agricultural, mining, pharmaceutical, etc.) Lift to 40 lbs, work overtime and weekends if required Must have 4-10 years of experience in industrial automation Hold a valid Canadian driver's license with a good driving record Ability to work well with minimal supervision and take initiative Demonstrate excellent skills in organization and problem solving Solid technical communication skills Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentEducation & Work Experience:
More than 4 years of experience in the controls and automation industry More than 2 years of experience managing projectsEnvironment:
