Compensation: $100/hourLocation: Midland, TXAssignment Duration: 12 months+Work Schedule: M-F / 40 hours+Benefits: Comprehensive insurance with 401(k), PTO and holidays Responsibilities Manage multiple projects with moderate complexity. Engineering support will include options analysis/selection, design, AFE management, procurement, drawings creation, construction support, commissioning support/start-up and post start-up modificationsEvaluate electrical transmission, substation, and distribution infrastructure to determine appropriate modifications and new infrastructure required for supporting electrical loadsWork with external electrical service providers (e.g. Oncor, AEP, & Xcel) to ensure power availability Participates in Invitation to Tender (ITT) development, bid evaluation and contractor selectionParticipates in identification & sourcing long lead equipment, assuring Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contractor support until equipment is assigned to the contractorCoordinates development of Functional Interaction PlanCoordinates project issues resolution processCoordinates change requests & endorses change authorizationResponsible for the completion of the assigned work scope consistent with the Project ObjectivesEngages Project Team and functional resources to verify that the design & construction is consistent with project specifications & standardsServes as interface between Project Team & ContractorEnsures smooth transitions between project stagesLeads Project Management Team (PMT) in applying Project Management Systems Qualifications BS or MS degree in engineering field5-10 years experience as an electrical power systems engineer designing or supporting medium and/or high voltage equipment in the oil & gas, utility, mining, or manufacturing industriesProject Management experience including management of third party engineering firmsUnderstanding of power system concepts such as load flow, voltage regulation, harmonics, protective relay coordination, etcSelection & specification of electrical systems and equipment such as transformers, switchgear, reclosers, protective relays, HV/MV power cablesKnowledgeable of ERCOT and/or SPP grid design, operation and capabilitiesUnderstanding of microgrids, cogeneration and renewable energy sourcesExperience creating and/or managing electrical software models (e.g. (Milsoft WindMil, ACSELERATOR, PSCAD, ETAP, and/or SKM Power Tools)Broad knowledge of design standards, specifications & work processesStrong leadership, influencing & interpersonal skillsStrong organizational, coordination, planning & interface skillsAbility to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads & frequent changes in prioritiesExcellent communication skills & ability to read, write & speak fluent EnglishProficient in MS Office suite of software programs
