Job DescriptionAECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Electrical Project Coordinator - EIC for employment at a project for a large, local municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant. The appropriately qualified candidate will assist with the coordination between internal and external stakeholders.
The responsibilities of this position include:
Perform independent electrical, instrumentation & controls (EI&C) engineering tasks for municipal infrastructure projects across Western Canada, with a focus on Metro Vancouver–type work.Design and develop engineering deliverables including drawings, calculations, specifications, studies, reports, and cost estimates for building and municipal systems.Lead electrical discipline tasks on small to mid-sized water and wastewater projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and sound engineering practices.Design electrical power, distribution, grounding, lighting, standby power, low-voltage systems, and process instrumentation and control systems.Produce detailed design documentation (e.g., single-line diagrams, layouts, schematics, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, cable schedules) with minimal supervision.Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate project deliverables.Support project management activities, including budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, and field reviews during construction.Adhere to AECOM and client design standards, QA/QC procedures, and quality expectations while meeting agreed project schedules and budgets. QualificationsMinimum requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, from a recognized/accredited post-secondary institution, 6+ plus years of relevant industry experience preferred in water/wastewater industry and engineering design experience in a multi-disciplinary electrical, instrumentation & control environment;Registered as Professional Engineer in Canada (EGBC preferred) or ability to obtain within 6 months Applicable experience in electrical related design and commissioning, preferably encompassing electrical distribution systems and DCS or PLC control systems, variable speed drives, and instrumentation & control systems for municipal or light industrial environment;Preferred qualifications:
10+ years related water/wastewater industry and engineering design experience in a multi-disciplinary electrical, instrumentation & control environment;Proven track record in design and production of tender documents such as P&IDs, single line diagrams, control and communication system diagrams, electrical and instrument location drawings, loop & schematic wiring diagrams; developing equipment load schedules, cable & tray calculations, instrumentation list and specifications sheets, standard details; contract specifications, electrical studies and reports;Familiar with the Canadian Electrical Code, NFPA (National Fire Protection Association, Canadian Building Code), IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), and experience in building (fire alarm and communication) systems;Proficient in use of ETAP, EasyPower and design tools such as AutoCAD and/or other design tools (AutoCAD P&IDs/Electrical, REVIT MEP) will be a desirable asset;Provides support to project management, contract administration and field reviews for project under construction;Experience with Metro Vancouver engineering standards is a strong asset.Additional InformationSponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.About AECOM
