Job Summary:

The HV Electrical Manager will be responsible for providing coordination of planning for contractors, and craft activities on a utility scale solar site. Develop and enhance relationships by providing superior service.

 Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Organization, flexibility, outstanding focus and strong communication are critical in performing duties which include, but are not limited to:

Managing BOP Substation Contractor Scheduling and logistics support Delivery Inspection Review and approve Pre and Post energization package. Collection Systems installations SCADA systems Provide drawing, constructability, submittal reviews, and feedback with the owners engineering team, verifying that the quality of materials, equipment, and workmanship conforms to the specifications and updates of the contract documents. Supervise and ensure quality control of work team. Manage the interface with appropriate personnel concerned with the connection of the project power grid to the existing transmission system. Establish and nurture teamwork environment within the project team. Maintain relationships with all visitors to the site: customers and contractors. Review/monitor contractor’s procurement of electrical resources, methods, staffing, look-ahead schedules and coordination with other site activities Work with engineering staff to ensure plans, specifications, submittals and RFIs are transmitted to subcontractors accurately and timely Monitor Safety, Quality, and Efficiency of contractors work on every project. Ensure owners supplied subcontract crews have resources and support.

Skills

The requirements listed below are representative of acquired skills required.

Proficiency in the installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair of DC and medium voltage cables Knowledgeable about current injection, Hi-pot, capacitance discharge, contact resistance, Megger, TTR, Doble, and other methods of cable and equipment testing Possess working knowledge of electrical drawings, sketches, and prints, underground duct banks, trenching, manholes and vaults for collection systems, underground and pad mount transformer usage, SCADA systems used in the power industry.

 

Competencies

The requirements listed below are competencies required to perform the job successfully.

Minimum 10 years supervisory experience in the electrical field (preferred in the renewable field) Current driver’s license

 

Education, Certifications, and Experience

Preferred

State Electrical Journeyman or Master License Schooling in Construction/Electrical

Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25/50 pounds regularly/occasionally Must be able to respond quickly to sounds. Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations. Must be able to safely climb ladders while carrying up to 40 pounds. Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day. Must be able to work in cold environments and on concrete floors. Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain. Working Conditions working indoors and outdoors excessive heat excessive cold extreme weather conditions excessive humidity excessive dampness or chilling excessive noise, continuous slippery and uneven walking surfaces working around machinery with moving parts working around moving objects or vehicles working around moving machinery/heavy equipment working in close proximity to others

 

Travel Requirements

Rotational including 3 weeks on and 6 days off (Thursday thru Tuesday)
