13563BRJob Description:Objective of the Job:
This position is an industrial electrician responsible for leading an electrical team, which maintains a wider range of equipment in the Cold Rolling mill of Big River Steel facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and “where applicable” ResponsibleSteel requirements are followed.
2) Coordinate electrical activities to troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on complex electrical equipment, including PLCs, control circuits, communication systems, I/O field devices, and VFD drives/motors.
3) Coordinate BRS, contractor, and vendor activities to install or modify electrical equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, and other specifications.
4) Work directly with all maintenance and operations personnel in a fast-paced environment to help develop a safety focused and productive roll mill team and support electrical teammates to help maintain a positive and efficient work environment focused on safety and reliability.
5) Lead the development of a work safety program, PM system, personnel training program, and equipment spares list for the electrical group.
Qualifications:
1) Demonstrated safety focus and willingness to proactively apply it in a team environment
2) Quality and detail oriented with strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills
3) Reliable team leader with superior communication skills
4) Highly motivated, self-directed, and willing to put in extra hours when needed
5) Minimum 5 years of work experience as an industrial electrician
6) Previous experience with NFPA 70E safe work practices
7) Experience reading electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
8) Strong working knowledge of 480-volt 3 phase electrical distribution systems and motor control
9) Advanced PLC programing experience (Siemens preferred)
10) HS diploma or equivalent is required; electrical degree or training is preferred
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Environment is typical for a steel mill production area, with extreme temperatures, high noise levels, and Dusty / greasy areas. Physically demanding work will be required in the production environment. Scheduled work hours are day shift Monday through Friday.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does supervise others. This position requires mentoring and direction of others when the need arises
