ResponsibilitiesWhere You'll Make an Impact:
Installs and monitors performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacementRepairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instrumentsRepairs and maintains motor control centers and programmable logic controls (1000 volt and below)Plans electrical secondary system additions or modificationsEnsures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practicesReads, employs, and updates electrical panel schedulesPerforms miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Skills to Help You Succeed:
Knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, control, and life safety.Position requires: Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions in secondary (1000 volts) circuits and systems including cutouts, switchgears and transformersIsolating faults in 1000 voltage distribution system and replacing cable runsOperating all 1000 voltage controls and switchgears including repairing and replacing thoseAbility to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers for secondary systems 1000 volt and below.Ability to read commercial electrical blueprints and apply NEC through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance and construction work.Ability to install and maintain motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers as appropriate to the position.Ability to isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment.Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test 1000 volt and below electrical circuits, equipment and appliances. QualificationsMust-Haves:
Must be able to read, write and understand English Must hold a high school diploma or GED before enrolling in an apprentice training program Four (4) plus years’ technical and trade experienceCurrent journeyman licenseUniversal CFC CertificationMust be able to comply with all state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a licensePhysical Requirements:
Must be able to work in high places and cramped spaces, apprentices must be physically able to climb ladders and crawl into confined areas. Stoop, crouch, and kneelApprentices must be able to hear or read warnings and instructionsMust be able to stand/walk up to 7 ½ hours per shiftRequire manual dexterity to operate all necessary equipmentMust be able to ascend/descend up to 32 stairsConsiderable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the jobThe work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipmentWork involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noisesUse of stairs and elevators What We OfferPerks We Offer You
