About the job

As an Electrical Instrumentation Apprentice at Sanofi Waterford, you’ll gain hands-on experience while working toward a nationally recognized Level 6 qualification. You’ll learn how to install, maintain, test, and calibrate systems that are critical to ensuring our production facilities run safely and efficiently – all while contributing to life-changing medicines for patients worldwide.

Your training will combine:

On-the-job learning at our Waterford site.

Off-site classroom and workshop training delivered at approved ETBI training centres during training phases (12–24 weeks).

Interviews will take place in person in early October, with start dates on 15 October or 1 November 2025.

Main responsibilities:

Learn to install, maintain, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems in a biopharmaceutical environment.

Support troubleshooting and preventative maintenance under the guidance of qualified mentors.

Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.

Contribute to cross-functional team projects while developing technical and problem-solving skills.

About you


To get started, you’ll need to:

Have completed your Leaving Certificate or equivalent, with a minimum of O5 in Maths or have completed an approved Pre-Apprenticeship course

Be 18 or older by the time the programme begins.

Have good colour vision (you’ll need a medical certificate to confirm this).

Be able to travel each day to Waterford for on-site work.

Be ready to spend time at designated ETBI training centres in Ireland during certain phases 2,4 & 6 of the programme (these can last from 12–24 weeks).
