Onsite - This role requires you to be onsite on a full time basis. The primary work location will be Warren, MI.

The Role

Step into a pivotal role as an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer within our Advanced Robotics Engineering Organization, located in Warren, MI. You’ll be at the heart of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, pushing the boundaries of robotics technology by designing innovative electrical systems for next-generation robotic platforms. What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

Design, develop, and validate electrical hardware, systems and schematics for advanced robotics applications.Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to integrate electrical components seamlessly into robotic architectures.Generate detailed documentation including wiring diagrams, bills of material (BOMs), and test procedures.Support PCB layout, component selection, and system prototyping activities from board-to-enclosure level of integration.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical systems during build, integration, and testing phases.Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, standards, and company policies.Drive continuous improvement initiatives in cost, electrical design, reliability, and manufacturability.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

Demonstrated expertise in electrical system design, schematics, and documentation.Solid understanding of analog and digital circuits, PCB layout, PLC Control, and similar hardware component selection.Hands-on experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and communication protocols (CAN, RS-485, Ethernet, etc.).Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or equivalent.Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience.

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.3+ years of experience designing electrical systems for robotics, automation, or related industries.Knowledge of safety compliance standards (UL, CE, ISO 13849, etc.).Experience with rapid prototyping and iterative development cycles.Familiarity with simulation tools for circuit analysis (SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink).Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams.
