We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating project plans, bid documents, and specifications to develop comprehensive bid proposals. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and other departments, to ensure accurate and competitive estimates for electrical construction projects.
ResponsibilitiesReview and evaluate project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine requirements for bid proposals.Calculate the cost of electrical construction by assessing available documents and site conditions.Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel from other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.Attend job site walk-throughs to address field conditions that may affect construction, bids, or pre-construction designs.Prepare bid documents, including specific scope letters, evaluations, and adjustments for buy-outs, labor rates, and productivity.Identify and address any inconsistent issues, conflicts, and other problems in bid proposals.Provide accurate, detailed, and competitive estimates.
Essential SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent, with completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship Program and field experience, or a bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field.Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in commercial, industrial, and service projects.Proficiency in estimating projects across various price ranges.Thorough knowledge of the electrical field, materials, and construction methods.Familiarity with the N.E.C and local codes.Proficiency with MS Suite, Outlook, Accubid, and AutoCAD.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Outgoing and personable demeanor.
Additional Skills & QualificationsAt least 2 years of estimating experience with an electrical contractor.Proficiency in estimating software such as Accubid, Bluebeam, or Plan Swift.Strong knowledge of electrical systems and construction practices.Experience in bidding, project management, and preconstruction.
