The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design of various electrical systems, including but not limited to medium and low voltage power distribution systems, facility lighting designs, grounding, fire alarm, and data/communications within industrial manufacturing and utility infrastructure spaces.
Responsibilities
Oversee projects from conceptual design through completion, working with other engineers and design team membersPerform project site visits, which include client interaction meetings as well as gathering field data required for the project designPerform electrical engineering calculations utilizing various engineering software platformsLayout and design of medium and low voltage electrical distribution systemsInteract with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) throughout the design processLayout and design of facility lighting and lighting system controls Special Systems (Fire Alarm, Data/Communications, CCTV, etc.) design, layout, and vendor coordinationDesign systems in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC – NFPA70)Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college (or equivalent)5+ years of specialized electrical facility schematic design and design development experience, including demonstrated experience with the evaluation of new and existing facilities’ electrical systems PE License (or on path to obtain)Background check with the ability to obtain a secret clearance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to travel to client locations as neededStrong written and verbal communicationKnowledge of computer operations and software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint),Experience conducting field observation to verify/obtain the existing conditions of electrical site work and facility systems, and incorporating these conditions into the design for a renovation/rehabilitation project.Experience in Construction Management/Scheduling and Cost-estimating.Ability to prepare and provide high-level briefs to senior leadership.Ability to review contractor submittals and respond to requests for information (RFI's)Ability to prepare and provide high-level briefs to senior leadership. Oral and writtenCommunication skills must be highly developed
