Job Description
The Electrical Engineer will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative and fast-paced analysis and design solutions, focusing on satellite and ground system design and analysis. This role involves designing the various communication and control needs of the electronics sub-systems, including compute, storage, and data transfer. You will lead tasks such as schematic design, component selection, circuit analysis and simulation, layout review, and board bring-up and test. Collaboration across teams and supporting engineers with design reviews and joint reports and proposals preparation is essential. A sharp focus on customer needs and the ability to conduct trades and analyses to meet customer goals is crucial.
Responsibilities
+ Lead a variety of tasks from schematic design, component selection, circuit analysis and simulation, to layout review and board bring-up and test.
+ Work across teams to support design reviews and prepare joint reports and proposals.
+ Interact directly with customers to understand technical requirements and translate them into technically robust solutions.
+ Responsible for electrical circuit design, including digital and analog power for hosting sensitive RF and communications payloads.
+ Analyze designed circuits using software tools for performance and characterization, including Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) on fabricated PCB designs.
+ Identify top-level customer requirements and ensure high-quality and innovative designs are pursued.
+ Perform electrical design and layout trade studies for electrical and power sub-systems.
+ Facilitate cost trades for multiple configurations balancing cost/manufacturability against design uncertainty.
+ Deliver well-written documentation, reports, and presentations for technical design reviews and proposals.
+ Design and support test campaigns for space hardware, both development and qualification/acceptance.
Essential Skills
+ Electrical engineering expertise with PCB testing and verification.
+ PCB/PCBA level verification up to unit level and debug experience.
+ Experience writing test procedures and verification plans.
+ Proficiency in PCB/PCBA level debugging (schematics, layout, electronic skills).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
+ 5+ years of experience in board-level design verification for aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics products.
+ Experience developing requirements, plans, and procedures for product design verification.
+ Proficiency in developing and executing verification plans, test cases, and test procedures.
+ Excellent communication and leadership skills.
+ Proven experience in design verification for hardware systems, including board-level debugging and analysis.
+ Strong hands-on soldering skills with both through-hole and surface-mount components.
+ Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate across disciplines.
Work Environment
This position requires working onsite in Northridge, CA, where you will be part of a dynamic team environment focused on cutting-edge technology and innovation.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00/hr.
