Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Electrical Engineer to join our growing engineering department. This role involves electronic troubleshooting, testing of prototypes, pilot builds, production builds, and working with test equipment and fixtures. The successful candidate will maintain and update documentation, including schematics, layouts, and assembly drawings, and take ownership of change management and risk management activities for existing designs.

ResponsibilitiesPerform electronic troubleshooting and testing of prototypes, pilot builds, and production builds.Maintain and update documentation such as schematics, layouts, assembly drawings, and fabrication drawings.Own change management and risk management activities for existing designs.Perform and write technical assessments for End of Life (EOL) components.Write and perform verification and validation test protocols and reports.Train assembly technicians as needed.Apply design for manufacturing, test, and regulatory compliance to instrument manufacturing.Collaborate with subcontractors, including build technicians and board layouts.Ensure all product documentation adheres to Quality System requirements.Essential SkillsDegree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.Proficiency in troubleshooting and failure analysis.Understanding of electrical safety protocols.Experience in electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, and process improvement.Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and medical device regulations.Ability to perform root cause and failure analysis.Proficiency in electrical design, testing, and use of test equipment.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to use Mechanical CAD tools such as Solidworks.Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and mechanical drawings.Experience with Altium for design review, manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting.Understanding of product and process change control, design control, MRP/Inventory processes, and Quality System requirements.Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Experience in contract manufacturing and working with medical device equipment.Work Environment

The position is based in a hands-on, smaller team culture with a growing engineering department. There is an opportunity to become the lead engineer as the team expands. The role involves working closely with a team in Australia and requires collaboration across departments. The manufacturing facility has recently moved to Irvine, providing a dynamic environment for growth and innovation.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
