Electrical Engineer
Job Description
The Senior Electrical Engineer reports to the Director of Engineering and is an integral member of the multidisciplinary engineering team. This position will be primarily responsible for researching, planning, designing, implementing, checking, and executing electrical engineering activities for the company. The Senior Electrical Engineer ensures electrical system designs have the appropriate analytical verification, product level validation, and field testing. Additionally, this position documents work products in written form, e.g. technical notes, procedures, manuals, bills of materials, and design specifications. While working with other engineers, shop technicians, and service technicians in a team environment, this role is key to fostering a creative and cohesive workplace, allowing for new ideas while embracing speed and quality in work produced.
Responsibilities
Develop electrical design, schematics, and drawings in AutoCAD ElectricalDevelop Back Panel LayoutInterpret mechanical design drawings for electrical requirements (e.g. SolidEdge/ AutoCAD)Research supplier products for assembly componentsDevelop and design electrical systems, for new orders, as improvements to existing designs, or as part of new product developmentHelp establish new and maintain existing standards (UL 508a, NEC, NFPA 86) SIL safety and Machine Safety (ISO 12100)Develop electrical bills of materialsPower up electrical systems and configure hardware per application specificationsCheck the quality of assemblers and technicians’ work and respond to inquiries during assemblyWork with Sales Engineers to provide input with quote preparation as requiredAbility to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with malfunctioning equipment in final assembly/testing or the field using proper tools and testing apparatusSoftware
AutoCAD ElectricalPLC programming (Allen Bradley/ Rockwell, Schneider, Beijer, Beckhoff) – Ladder Logic and Structured Text a plusTechnical writing, including Software Management Plan (e.g. SDS, SRS, Test Plan, Traceability Matrix, User/Operating Manual with Troubleshooting Guide, Spare Parts List with Vendor Part number)Requirement Reviews – Participate in reviews and work with Systems Engineering to ensure proper implementation of featuresGeneral

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related discipline (BSEE degree preferred)5 to 7 years of industry work experienceProficient in Design/Drafting Tools, AutoCAD ElectricalFamiliar with Industry Standards (UL, NEC, NFPA)Analyze electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawingsStrong understanding of electrical theory and logic controlUnderstanding of fluid transfer systems and pumpsKnowledge of fluid power and pneumatic systemsGeneral Skills/Qualifications:

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $57.00/hr.
