GFT is seeking experienced Electical Engineer to join our expanding Power Group in  Marlton, NJ

What you’ll be challenged to do:

As a electrical engineer, you will lead or support utility and power substation projects and clients.

 

This is a unique situation in that you will be providing design of low to medium power systems of buildings related to substation facilities and related buildings for utility clients. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate with strong building design experience looking to learn more about high-voltage design. Come join our team!

  

 

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Work with our award-winning team serving one of our largest clients on their critical infrastructure projectsManage quality assurance & quality control efforts for facilities improvement projectsEngage directly with internal and external clients on scoping, budgets, schedules, and project updatesOversee the design of electrical systems including low/medium voltage power distribution, standby/emergency generation, interior/exterior lighting for buildings and substation yards, access control, security and fire alarm systemsTrain alongside our high-voltage power team in the production of physical and relay designs for substations and switching stations for multiple clients.Participate in field surveys and troubleshooting. Train junior staff in the best practices for field workDaily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplinesProduce quality deliverables in all phases of design from proposal efforts through construction phase servicesDeliver projects on time and within client budgetsEducate the team on evolving electrical codes impacting our clients

 

What you will bring to our firm: 

5+years of experience in electrical engineeringEIT required, PE preferred or the ability to obtain the license within the first year of employmentFirm understanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards and energy codesStrong field survey experience and hands-on troubleshooting is a plusElectrical power design experience is required (low to medium voltage)Lighting, and/or fire alarm design experience is a plusSecurity and communication design experience is a plusExperience using Computer Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD, MicroStation) is a plusBuilding Information Modeling (BIM – Autodesk Revit) experience is a plusExperience in Power Studies, such as Short Circuit Study, Coordination Study, and Arc Flash Analysis is preferredProficiency using SKM Power Tools Software or ETAP is a plusStrong verbal and written communication skills are requiredThe ability to work independently and in a team environment effectivelyThe ability to manage deadlines across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment is essential”

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $85,000-$115,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
