Job Description
This role is for an Electrical Engineer with a heavy concentration on the plant floor, who will focus in three main areas: capital equipment projects, maintenance support, and engineering projects & improvements.
ResponsibilitiesSupport the plant floor in investigating electrical issues with operators and maintenance teams.Develop, recommend, and oversee capital equipment projects from beginning to end: budget, planning, timelines, installation, and commissioning.Recommend and transition to new platforms and technologies when needed for obsolescence.Work with medium voltage power distribution systems.Provide guidance during preventative maintenance and equipment failures to determine the root cause of any issues and implement future plans for efficiency.Develop and execute engineering projects and improvements for CAPEX and cost savings (5S, lean, design updates, controls & automation programming).Create engineering specs, designs, estimates, schedules, spare parts lists, RFQs, and work orders as needed.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline.3 to 5+ years of experience as an electrical engineer in a manufacturing environment.Experience programming PLCs and HMIs.Previous experience overseeing capital equipment projects.Hands-on experience working with machinery.Additional Skills & Qualifications10+ years of experience as an electrical engineer in a manufacturing environment.Motors, drives, pumps, or fans experience.Experience with medium voltage power distribution systems (up to 15kV).Previous experience interacting with Union workers.Work Environment
The work environment includes very large hydraulic presses at the site ranging from 8,000 to 50,000 tons, which can be very loud and shake the floor when operating. The 50,000 ton press is a piece of engineering history, recognized as a Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark. The plant floor is not temperature controlled and can sometimes get fairly hot. This role is estimated to be 40% hands-on/on the floor and 60% focusing on other tasks.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
