Electrical & Electronic Engineering Technologist

Aplin has partnered with a leader in the defense industry to hire an Electrical/Electronic Technologist to join their growing team in Dartmouth, NS. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative, mission-critical projects in a collaborative and high-performance engineering environment.
Please note: Candidates must be eligible to obtain the appropriate security clearance, as required by the nature of the defense programs being delivered.
As an Electrical/Electronics Technologist, you will support the development and integration of electrical and electronic systems throughout the hardware development lifecycle. This includes everything from design and documentation to testing, installation, and maintenance. You’ll work closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet technical, regulatory, and quality standards.
Responsibilities:Assist in the design, development, and testing of electrical systems and componentsPrepare and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specificationsConduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standardsCollaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issuesPerform maintenance and calibration of electrical equipmentDocument project progress and prepare technical reports and presentationsSupport system installation and commissioning activitiesStay informed of industry advancements in electrical engineering technologyQualifications:Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related disciplineExperience in electrical engineering, preferably in a hands-on or field-support roleProficiency with CAD software and other relevant engineering toolsSolid knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulationsIPC J-STD-001 soldering certification is preferredStrong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skillsEffective communicator with the ability to work independently or in a team environmentValid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites when neededEligibility to work with Canadian Controlled Goods and US ITAR-controlled articlesMust be capable of obtaining a NATO Reliability and Secret security clearance
