System One has multiple openings for Electrical Discharge Machining Operators to support the upcoming Spring 2026 outage season.
Position Summary
The EDM Tool Technician is responsible for the setup, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment. This role ensures tooling, electrodes, and machines are prepared to deliver high-precision results required for nuclear and high-specification manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
+ Set up, align, and maintain EDM machines (wire, sinker, hole-drill) for production use.
+ Manufacture, prepare, and maintain electrodes and tooling to support EDM operations.
+ Program EDM equipment and optimize machining parameters for accuracy, surface finish, and efficiency.
+ Diagnose and resolve machine and tooling issues to minimize downtime.
+ Work closely with engineering teams to develop EDM processes for new or modified components.
+ Maintain accurate records of tooling setups, machine parameters, and calibration activities.
+ Ensure compliance with ASME codes, NQA-1 quality requirements, and nuclear industry safety standards.
+ Train EDM Operators in machine setup, safe practices, and best-use procedures.
Qualifications
+ Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in precision machining.
+ 4–7+ years experience in EDM machining with demonstrated setup and tooling expertise.
+ Strong knowledge of GD&T, CAD/CAM software, and precision metrology.
+ Hands-on experience in troubleshooting EDM machines and maintaining electrodes/tooling.
+ Familiarity with nuclear or aerospace quality programs a plus.
+ Excellent problem-solving and process development skills.
