We partner with clients to develop solutions that will improve functionality and performance in your building. The range of competencies includes voltage classes from 120V to 765kV, generating plant and substation design and implementation, substation equipment upgrades, relay and protection upgrades, Power System Studies, renewable design and implementation / interconnection, distribution system upgrades, water wastewater system designs, building electrical upgrades, and more.
Our Buildings Engineering Services discipline is looking for an Electrical Designer - Buildings to join our Phoenix, AZ office! In this role, you will work closely with engineers to perform high level design work in addition to drafting and project related tasks on assigned projects.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and detail plans by analyzing sketches, notes and other input material to determine the best approach for the completion of drawings.
+ Work from sketches to produce computer-generated graphs, charts, overlays and isometric drawings including digital terrain models and surfaces.
+ Calculate quantity takeoffs and prepare cost estimates.
+ Perform high level design computations, earthwork calculations and prepare complete construction plans.
+ Determine and calculate stormwater drainage areas and steep slope areas.
+ Prepare concept layout plans.
+ Perform grading, utility, stormwater and soil erosion/sediment control design.
+ Conform to the company’s standard CADD procedures for layering, etc., and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.
+ Work with numerous project teams to help in project completion.
+ Coordinate details and dimensions between drawing sheets.
+ Prepare project exhibits.
+ Address assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency is increased.
Qualifications
+ High School Diploma/Equivalent; Associates Degree or a Certificate from a technical school.
+ 5+ years as an Electrical Designer in Buildings required.
+ Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D Land Desktop Companion, AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoTurn and other related software.
+ Technical skills.
+ Strong verbal and written communications skills.
+ Ability to meet deadlines.
+ Planning skills.
+ Ability to understand and follow directions.
+ Detail oriented.
+ Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
