Job Description SUMMARY Designer I is responsible for creating design models and other documents to show equipment and device layouts and branch circulation for power, lighting, and auxiliary drawings. This position receives direction from the BIM Manager for graphic standards and layout. This position requires continuous dotted-line supervision by a Designer III, an Engineer, the Engineer of Record, the Engineering Team Lead, or the Director of Engineering. Skills and Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Fill in panel board schedules with branch circuit lighting and power plans under supervision. Perform wire sizing, transformer feeders, and protection from published schedules. Calculate lighting levels and layout fixtures at the direction of the Sr. Designer or Engineer for spaces of high finish, specific application, or aesthetic sensitivity. Coordinate signal and low voltage subcontractors and designers with other trades, disciplines, and designs with supervision and assistance. Back-check your work for accuracy and completeness before passing on to others. Limited field work and surveying skills. Perform additional assignments per the supervisor’s direction and training plan. Become familiar with manufacturer submittals for electrical characteristics.
