Job Description
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead large-scale projects within our team. As a key player, you will be part of an organization that is a leading provider and servicer of oilfield equipment, including power generation, fracturing equipment, coiled tubing, nitrogen and gas compression, and other custom-manufactured equipment. The ideal candidate will possess expert knowledge in turbine and turbine engine electrical design.
ResponsibilitiesDesign power lines systems and switchgear.Handle medium voltage systems, specifically 13.8 KV.Conduct electrical load studies.Design generators, turbines, and power systems.Utilize communications software and PLC knowledge for modifying and controlling designs.Apply NEC, IEC, UL, and HAZ codes and standards.Develop, review, update, modify, and approve electrical design drawings and BOM to meet regulatory and safety guidelines.Liaise with clients and other engineers to ensure project specifications are met and completed on time.Conduct research, perform diagnostics, and troubleshoot equipment and systems.Design and build prototypes as part of the development process.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.10+ years of experience in power generation and distribution design.Expertise in electrical design of power generation and distribution.Experience with power generation relay design and protection element schemes.Experience with medium and low voltage systems.Proficiency in CAD, Solidworks, and ETAP.Additional Skills & QualificationsExpertise in turbine engine components.Knowledge of electrical engineering and electrical design.Experience in distribution and power generation.Understanding of protective relay and manufacturing processes.Work Environment
The position operates Monday through Friday and may require spending extended periods in the shop depending on the design phase, which could be up to three weeks at a time. The role requires adaptability to work in both office and shop settings. The workload typically involves managing 1-2 projects at a time. The position is client-facing and involves less than 20% travel, potentially requiring trips to West Texas for service issues and commissioning related to modular data centers. Travel demands will not exceed 2-3 instances.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $76.00 - $84.00/hr.
