ResponsibilitiesServe as a technical expert in support of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems for design projects as part of a multi-discipline project team.Lead electrical engineering tasks and provide technical and design services for institutional, commercial, and industrial facilities.Direct and conduct technical evaluations of electrical equipment/systems and control systems, and prepare design computations and assessments.Complete electrical engineering design tasks within budget and on schedule.Communicate and coordinate technical evaluations and designs, technical writing of reports, and correspondence with other discipline professionals, as well as with Project Managers and client representatives.Stay current with local, state, and federal design standards and regulations.Develop new work and clients related to electrical engineering services for institutional, commercial, and industrial facilities.Essential SkillsB.S. in Electrical Engineering.NC PE or the ability to acquire NC PE quickly through reciprocity.8+ years of relevant experience.High technical ability and interest in technology.Strong communication skills and a self-starter.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in electrical power engineering and drawing sets in CAD or Revit.Familiarity with MEP work for buildings and comfort with NEC, NESC, IEEE standards.An interdisciplinary systems approach to engineering.Interest in financial metrics and data analytics for deriving solutions.Creativity in problem-solving and presenting ideas.Work Environment
The individual will need to work out of the Durham office for 3-6 months, with more flexibility available afterward.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.
