Job Description Insight Global seeks an Electrical Crew Lead to support industrial electrical installation and troubleshooting in the Plainville, CT location. The role both leads and performs field installations, directing a crew of up to four technicians on diverse project work. Daily tasks include control and power wiring at 480/240/120V, low‑voltage controls, and professional control panel build‑outs with clean terminations. You will read and execute from electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics to deliver technically accurate, on‑schedule outcomes. Typical project types span machine guarding integrations and industrial remediation/treatment system controls and instrumentation. The position requires hands‑on fabrication and in‑field installation for complex systems, using precision tools to confirm equipment accuracy and reliability. Success hinges on manual dexterity, strong technical aptitude, a safety‑first mindset, and clear communication with Technical Directors or Project Managers when issues arise. Skills and Requirements - Current Connecticut Electrical Journeyman license (E2 or E1) - Hands‑on experience with industrial controls and power wiring at 480V/240V/120V, including control panel build‑outs and accurate terminations - Ability to read and work from electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics; execute low‑voltage and controls installations with technical accuracy and on‑time delivery - Proven crew leadership—able to run a team of up to four technicians while performing field installations and troubleshooting - Strong safety discipline and proper PPE use (training such as Lockout/Tagout, OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E preferred) and adherence to client/internal standards - Ability to pick up at least 50 pounds - Machine guarding installation experience, including drilling, threading/tapping, and anchoring equipment - Background with industrial remediation/treatment systems (instrumentation, transmitters, motors, heaters) and system integrations/improvements - Troubleshooting PLCs and machine control boards (e.g., Allen‑Bradley, Siemens) and performing preventive maintenance on capital assets - Fabrication skills—control panel assembly plus brackets/mounts—and use of precision measuring instruments to verify accuracy/reliability - Excellent hand–eye coordination, mechanical aptitude, clear communication, and ability to thrive in fast‑paced industrial environments
