Job Title:  Electrical/Controls Engineer or Technologist

Working Pattern:  Fulltime

Working location:  Peterborough, Ontario

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical/Controls Engineer or Technologist to join our engineering team in Peterborough, Ontario. Our team consists of approximately thirty engineers/technologists.

In this position, you will support development, testing and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical products for our Naval and Marine customers.

Key Accountabilities:

Design/upgrades of electrical and control systemsAnalyses and translates high level requirements and applicable standards into electrical design requirementsLiaises with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components of the system to facilitate effective electrical designDesigns and implements electrical designs to meet requirements including their testabilityInstall programs, supports system integration and trouble-shooting at our facility, at third-party test houses and in the field

Basic Requirements:

A recognized engineering degree or diploma with 5 years experience in a similar roleWorks well as part of a teamHigh level of proficiency in English in both verbal and written communication skillsIn order to be considered for this position, you must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada for greater than 5 yearsMust pass Canadian Controlled Goods and Reliability Security Clearance checks

Preferred Requirements:

A recognized electrical or software engineering degree and license with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) as a P.Eng.Able to manage assigned work package(s)Experience with SEE Electrical Expert or other electrical CAD softwareExperience with Siemens Step 7 or other PLC programming softwareExperience with Indusoft HMI or other HMI programming software

Rolls-Royce has entered into an agreement to divest a portion of our business to Fairbanks Morse Defense. As part of this agreement, the role you are applying for will transition to Fairbanks Morse Defense after the closing of the transaction, expected in 2025.
