Electrical Commissioning Engineer (Nationals Only)
KKEY ROLE Act as the focal point for all commissioning and construction activities relating to new and existing 33KV sub-sea power cables, 33Kv Gas Insulated Switchgear, 33KV/11KV transformers and Emergency, Small Power, LV Distribution systems and equipment during a Brownfield project. Responsible for creating complex Commissioning test procedures, for inter-platform Power Management, GIS Switchgear and HV equipment. Lead the Factory Acceptance Testing of a packaged Switch room. Is accountable for timely generation of deliverables associated with commissioning of these systems, and management of the electrical execution resources against the various schedules This role is for the Brownfield Project and mainly office based for readiness phase. Site attendance will be required to offshore or onshore facilities during execution phase PRE-REQUISITES Competent in communicating in English language. Ability to work on own initiative. Good inter-personal skills. Ability to produce written reports. Computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power point Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and project schedules. Fit and healthy An Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications / experience ATEX experience. Complex Power management experience. You will be an experienced discipline engineer who demonstrates good communication and team ethos skills and have significant experience of working on the Construction and commissioning of Brownfield projects within the oil and gas industry. Will have been deemed competent in their working history to act as an approved Responsible Electrical Person (REP) under the CLIENT -approved CoW system (or equivalent). Deep understanding of CLIENT  Construction & Commissioning Defined Practices for both Greenfield and Brownfield projects and the latest international standards that assure integrity of build and construction quality. Experience of effectively interfacing and working together with Commissioning cross-discipline teams, Design / Construction Contractors and Operations entities. Cross discipline technical and commissioning awareness would be a distinct advantage RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES Provide HSE Leadership and work with the Brownfield functions and vendor teams to deliver fully on CLIENT ’s expectations on HSE. Attending Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT’s) on behalf of Project. Review of Engineering Contractors AFC design documents. Responding to engineering site queries, where applicable. Competently develop and document the strategies and plans for Execute phases. Oversee key areas of work during Electrical Package / Brownfield fabrication and commissioning phases of the project as directed by the delivery line. Participate in the development of effective external interfaces between CLIENT , Engineering Contractor, Brownfield Topsides Fabricator, Package Suppliers and other major contractors across the project. Support the Risk and Opportunity Management process. Review and update of key project management documentations as the project progresses Interface with Engineering, Construction Contractors, and Operations to ensure constructability input is being actively considered and implemented. Provide all necessary technical input to Project documentation and plans. Anticipate and identify adverse trends/events throughout the construction cycle and work with the relevant parties to avoid them or achieve timely resolution. Working with a Contractor to oversee all Construction and Preservation activities. During the Offshore Execute phase, provide oversight of all ACE Brownfield, electrical, instruments and telecommunications construction activities, from start, through to final acceptance including Mechanical Completion Handover processes. Offshore visits during the Construction and Commissioning phases. Acting as the Senior Authorised Electrical Person (SAEP) following assessment and approval by Electrical Technical Authority Assessing and approving Authorised Electrical Persons (AEP), Authorised Instrument Persons (AIP) and Competent Isolators (CI) Reviewing and approving switching programmes for complex reconfigurations of the HV Electrical system. Developing, reviewing/approving isolation processes for HV systems. Specifying and raising Purchase Orders for required Electrical equipment and Electrical Test Equipment. Witnessing and approving site acceptance tests. Review and acceptance of contractor supplied procedures and activities for installation of all Electrical equipment at onshore and offshore locations. Responsible for the compilation of relevant Commissioning Test Procedures (CTP) for the electrical systems. Responsible for the safety & management of all Suppliers’ representatives when on-site / offshore for the commissioning works of subsequent items of equipment. Ensuring all Electrical commissioning personnel carryout their work and are fully trained in accordance with site PTW procedures. Identification & management of any temporaries necessary to facilitate early, safe commissioning. Provide commissioning support to Operations during the start-up phase
