Electrical CAD Technician - Pipeline & Facilities (Denver)
**Description** Burns & McDonnell is seeking a motivated Electrical CAD Technician to support our engineering and design teams in the production of detailed electrical drawing packages for infrastructure projects. This position plays a critical role in transforming engineering concepts into high-quality, constructible drawing sets by working closely with designers, engineers, and project managers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to develop technical skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-driven individual to build a career in electrical design within a multidisciplinary team. + Create and revise 2D electrical drawings including: + One-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, conduit and cable routing plans, grounding plans, panel layouts, and termination diagrams. + Instrument location plans, I/O layouts, and loop diagrams for instrumentation projects. + Work under the direction of engineers and designers to develop construction drawing packages in accordance with client and company standards. + Apply and maintain adherence to Burns & McDonnell drafting standards, CAD layer controls, title blocks, and drawing conventions. + Assist with redline incorporation, as-built updates, and document control. + Participate in quality checks and internal drawing reviews. + Assist in the creation of plot plans, equipment layouts, and 3D markups, as needed. + Collaborate with project teams to coordinate across disciplines and support drawing deliverables. + Contribute to CAD-related process improvements and drafting efficiencies. + Perform miscellaneous project support and other duties as assigned. + Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards. **Qualifications** + High school diploma or GED, plus coursework in drafting or CAD-related technology. + Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar drafting software (2D required; 3D a plus). + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. + Ability to interpret engineering sketches, redlines, and markups. + Basic experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). + Effective written and verbal communication skills. + Problem-solving mindset with a desire to grow and take initiative. + Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located. **Compensation** $54,500.00-65,000.00 Yearly The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location.
