Boeing Commercial Airlines (BCA), Electrical Bonding & Grounding team has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Bonding and Grounding Engineer (Experienced or Senior) to join the team in Everett and Renton, WA.

Position Overview:

As part of the Boeing Electrical Bonding & Grounding team you will be responsible for developing and maintaining electrical bonding and grounding build processes and design guidance/practices, developing and validating design requirements for protection against personnel shock and flammable vapor ignition, material selection, electrical components, training and hardware performance for all Boeing Commercial Airplane programs.

Position Responsibilities:

Support development and maintenance of electrical bonding and grounding build processes, design requirements, materials, and hardware performance through existing and development airplane programs

Collaborating with engineers in materials and process (M&P) disciplines, finishes, corrosion control, composites, fasteners and among other systems engineering disciplines to integrate bonding and grounding methodologies

Design, perform, and analyze necessary testing for bonding and grounding solutions

Evaluate and select verification strategies for the bonding and grounding approach

Communicate procedures to perform electrical continuity check to design organizations using electrical bonding resistance meters

Support sustained work statement to ensure electrical bonding guidance is given by affected business units

Promote standardization of bonding and grounding design methodologies, processes and parts

Review and approve engineering bonding and grounding designs and validating compliance to B&G owned requirements (for protection against personnel shock and flammable vapor ignition)

Perform airplane bonding and grounding validation testing

Perform failure analysis on in-service bond and ground problems

Review and approve post-production maintenance processes and requirements

Work across different functional teams to find solutions

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Everett and Renton, WA location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

5+ years of industry experience in aerospace systems electrical bonding design and verification.

Proficient in Electrical Circuit Analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

10-year or more industry experience in aerospace systems electrical bonding design and verification

Proficient in applying and developing aerospace electrical bonding and grounding processes, such as ground studs, faying surface bonds, fastener bonds and static discharge bond

Experience with Boeing engineering drawings, Boeing specification and BAC5117 Bonding and Grounding Processes

Experience with Verification and Validation of Bonding and Grounding Requirements

Equipment installation design background

Familiar with Bonding and Grounding associated regulations from Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 25: 25.863, 25.899, 25.954, 25.1301, 25.1309, 25.1360, and 25.1715

Experience with CATIA, ENOVIA, PDM, IVT

Ability to obtain an EB&G DAE role within 12 months

Experience of application and development of common aerospace electrical bonding and grounding processes, such as ground studs, faying surface bonds, fastener bonds and static discharge bond

Experience with Verification and Validation of Bonding and Grounding Requirements

Knowledge of Electrical Power System and Electrical Shock Hazards

Knowledge of application and removal of sealants, primer, topcoats along with conversion coating and corrosion control and prevention

Knowledge of bonding and grounding LRU Analysis Packages/Performing Ohm’s Law calculations

Experience working across different engineering disciplines, airline customers and suppliers

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range:

Experienced (Level 3): $104,550 - $141,450

Senior (Level 4): $128,350 - $173,650
