The Electrical Technician is responsible for performing electrical assembly, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and related production activities with minimal supervision. This position requires the ability to read and interpret wiring schematics, electrical drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs), while ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform electrical wiring, assembly, and related production work according to engineering drawings, schematics, and BOM requirements.Complete wiring, weldments, and assemblies so that finished work conforms to drawings in every aspect, without rework and without direct supervisor or production manager oversight.Cut wire to specified lengths and safely operate wire-cutting equipment without incident.Select the correct wire gauge, wire color, terminals, and wire markers in accordance with drawing and BOM specifications.Install and route cables of the proper length and type as specified in the drawing package.Wire units efficiently while ensuring functionality, neatness, and a professional appearance.Prepare wiring panels in a manner that allows future alterations and repairs to be completed quickly and efficiently, including proper use and placement of wire ties.Perform thermostat, satellite, and control box testing as required and complete all associated test reports accurately.Test wiring harnesses and cables, when required and properly trained, to ensure continuity and correct labeling prior to installation.Perform low-level troubleshooting, revisions, and repair of electrical systems as needed.Maintain a production pace that supports scheduled completion and delivery timelines while minimizing scrap, rework, lost parts, and missing components.Complete all required paperwork promptly and legibly, including test sheets, on-hire/off-hire documentation, and drawing mark-ups, with discrepancies fully documented.Identify and report design or manufacturing flaws to the Supervisor and/or Engineering that may prevent successful building, welding, or wiring of the current job.Notify the Supervisor when material supplies are insufficient to meet scheduled work requirements.Follow the chain of command and communicate important information promptly.Maintain a clean work area without continuous supervision, including collecting reusable materials and sorting them as directed.Properly and safely use hand tools, power tools, and equipment without causing damage or injury.Operate small fork trucks and stand-up equipment safely and without accidents, when authorized.Understand and implement job safety setup requirements without repeated reminders.Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) for the work being performed.QualificationsAbility to read and interpret wiring schematics, electrical drawings, and bills of materials.Knowledge of electrical assembly, wire routing, terminal installation, and cable preparation.Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems.Ability to work independently from job release through job completion.Ability to complete electrical department work efficiently and competently on a minimum of three unit types.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.Good communication skills and ability to report issues promptly through the proper chain of command.Commitment to workplace safety, organization, and cleanliness.Performance ExpectationsCompleted work meets all drawing, quality, and functional requirements without rework.Electrical assemblies are completed accurately, safely, and professionally.Testing and documentation are completed correctly and on time.Production schedules are met while maintaining quality and minimizing waste.Work is performed independently with minimal supervision.e
