What will you do at ABB?
As a Product Specialist Building Automation, you’ll quickly become familiar with the technical specifications of our innovative and sustainable smart building solutions. You understand what it takes to create a suitable design and can pinpoint exactly where challenges may arise in the technical process.
Everything revolves around connectivity: products that work seamlessly together to make homes and buildings intelligent. You collaborate with installers, system integrators, and project developers in sectors such as hotels, hospitals, large office buildings, and residential complexes. With your specific product knowledge and technical insight, you guide the process and unburden the customer. Their success is your success.
Your main responsibilities include:
Advising on project development, including direct collaboration with installers, system integrators, and project developers.
Providing training on key product groups such as KNX, Cylon, Welcome, and free@home.
Analyzing product gaps and offering alternative solutions to system integrators.
Offering technical support to the sales team on building automation solutions.
Developing project proposals and managing product specifications.
Co-developing business opportunities with our partners.
Your Team
You’ll roll up your sleeves for the Building Automation department, within the Product Marketing team of our Smart Buildings division. Our products and solutions are focused on increasing productivity and maximizing energy efficiency. In your role as Product Specialist Building Automation, you’ll play a vital part in achieving this mission. Together with top-tier colleagues from Sales, Product Marketing, and Technical Support, you’ll translate ABB’s added value into innovative, customer-centric solutions.

To truly make an impact as a Product Specialist Building Automation, you bring:
At least MBO-level education (vocational degree) with in-depth technical knowledge, particularly in electrical engineering.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a technical role, for example as an electrical project leader or home automation engineer.
Knowledge of KNX building automation; familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus.
Strong communication and training skills, both in Dutch and English.
A Category B driver’s license, so you can travel to our office and clients using your lease car.
You’ll work primarily from our Ede office, where you’ll have a dedicated workspace. At the same time, you'll regularly visit clients – typically about two days per week, with a work ratio of approximately 60% in the field and 40% in the office. One work-from-home day per week is also possible. The role offers flexibility, as you're in control of your own schedule and responsibilities.
