Apply Today! **Job Summary and Qualifications** The EKG Technician assumes responsibility for providing diagnostic EKG services. Adheres to policies and procedures in the assessment, implementation, and reporting of EKG services provided. The EKG Technician must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served in his/her department. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age-specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures. **What qualifications you will need:** + High School Graduate / GED + Current BLS + Minimum one year experience in acute care facility preferred. Will consider recent graduate of medical program at career academy. + Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills + Capable of developing and promoting innovative cost containment strategies while maintaining or improving the level of services provided. + Must have excellent English verbal and written skills including the ability to understand instruction and medical term and to write procedures. + Must have the manual dexterity necessary to use EKG equipment and to perform skills requiring fine motor skills. + Must have visual and auditory acuity to use EKG equipment safely and effectively and to evaluate data accurately.
