EKG Technician
**Details** + **Department:** Heart Station + **Schedule:** PRN **,** variable shifts to support department coverage. Day shifts typically begin between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM for 8-hour shifts. Second shift coverage from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM may also be required. Shifts will vary based on departmental needs. PRN staff are expected to be available to work a minimum of two 8-hour shifts per pay period, as needed by the department. This is not a guarantee of two shifts per pay period. Compensation varies based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, performance and salary range at the time of the offer._ **Responsibilities** Perform diagnostic electrocardiograms (EKGs). + Attach, connect, and operate electrodes from specified body areas to leads from electrocardiographmachine. + Review patient records and instruct patients prior to procedures. + Monitor patient during procedures and report any abnormal findings. + Identify and correct for artifacts. + Edit and forward results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation. + Maintain EKG equipment and supplies. **Requirements** Licensure / Certification / Registration: + BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted. Education: + High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. **Additional Preferences** Previous direct patient care experience preferred. Prior ECG, telemetry monitoring, or monitor technician (MT) experience is highly desirable. Must be highly detail-oriented with strong computer and documentation skills.
