EHS Water Program Leader
Job Title: EHS Water Program Leader Summary:In this position you will partner with Operations and the EHS team to lead and perform the technical work necessary to design and implement site water permitting strategies for all on-going site operations and future projects. Responsibilities Include: + Identify, lead and implement all regulatory requirements and best management practices as required by the site SPDES permit including all sampling, storm water, toxicity testing, waste water treatment support and DMR preparation and submittal. + Manage, monitor and oversee other regulatory programs as assigned including ISO 14001, PBS, CBS, FIFRA, and SPCC. + Conduct, and/or manage, regulatory required inspections as applicable pursuant to assigned management system and regulatory programs. + Maintain management system and regulatory required documentation to support ISO and regulatory compliance programs. + Crosstrain others to assist in regulatory requirements and participate in reciprocal training. + Prepare water and Corps of Engineers permit applications and negotiate permit conditions for both existing site operations and future projects. + Maintain in-depth knowledge of existing and proposed water quality regulations. + Review draft regulations and anticipate future impacts of emerging regulations. + Lead communicating the requirements and impacts of new regulations to Environmental and operations staff personnel. + Provide regulatory interpretations and technical advice to operations, engineering, and other internal customers using effective communications techniques. + Direct and review the work of consultants + Recommend improvements in processes, management systems, procedures, and operating equipment to comply with environmental requirements. + Participate in industry associations, peer groups and other organizations to share and learn best practices, build relationships, address proposed regulations, and promote the company's interests. + Act as lead person or technical water programs expert and provide leadership and technical advice to environmental and operations staff. + As part of site EHS team, participate in overall site compliance activities, including spill reporting, audits and incident investigations. + Participate in on-call rotation as Regulatory Reporting Officer for making spill reporting determinations and contacting regulatory agencies as required. + Completes Other duties as assigned Qualifications: The following are required for the role + Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or EHS, or equivalent technical experience + Minimum of 5 - 10 years industrial experience + Must have demonstrated knowledge in SPDES or NPDES permit compliance + Must have experience successfully implementing state and federal environmental regulations in an industrial environment + Must have excellent written and spoken communication skills, including strong computer and presentation skills + Must have demonstrated excellent quantitative, analytical and decision-making skills + Must have demonstrated ability to organize, motivate and drive change; demonstrated attention to detail and project follow-through The following are preferred for this position: + 3 - 5 years chemical industry experience preferred + Knowledge of EMS computer-based programs and/or electronic reporting environments. What We Offer:Base Pay Range: $83,500 - $122,650 The actua l salary offered i s determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill set s, and geography. Local geographic pay differentials may not be reflected in the above pay range and will be discussed with you by a member of the HR team when applicable .
