To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an EH&S Technician located in Buffalo grove, IL.
EH&S Technician will be responsible for supporting the implementation of routine activities related to the efficient management of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs in offices and manufacturing sites in order to ensure that the required company and government standards and regulations are met.
2nd shift – from 2.00 pm to 10.30 pm, (Sun/Mon or Tue/Sat)
What a typical day looks like
Conduct staff training sessions on EH&S policy and procedures. May be required to demonstrate and evaluate proper use of equipment.Provide new-employee health and safety trainings and develop materials for these presentations.Participate in meetings involving environmental, health, safety, training, and awareness programs.Participate in accident report investigations and determine how such accidents might be prevented in the futureAttend presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules. Document tracking of internal audits and inspections.Collaborate to institute control and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions and/or equipment.Manage employee programs such as safety shoe and safety glasses.Participate in inspections and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices, in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.Investigate health-related complaints and inspect facilities to ensure that they comply with public health legislation and regulations.Provide presentations and updates to emergency response plans and procedures.Stop work authority for situations that pose threats to workers' health and safetyThe experience we’re looking to add to our team:
High School Degree Successful completion of company provided training may be required 2 years of related experience.Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safety in the workplace. Emergency medical certification and Hazmat desired.Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to work that requires repetitive motion and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
