EHS Technician - 3rd Shift

Eaton’s ES AMER MFGSC division is currently seeking a EHS Technician - 3rd Shift at our Dallas, TX location! 

 

The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr per hour. The core hours are Sunday-Thursday, 9:00 p.m. - 5:30 a.m.  Mandatory overtime will ocassionally be required.

 The EHS Technician II (3rd Shift) is the sole EHS representative during third shift, responsible for driving environmental, health, safety, and security initiatives on site. The role supports and leads various MESH elements, maintains EHS systems and metrics, coordinates action items, conducts training, guides EHS teams, and leads incident investigations and internal assessments—working closely with front line leaders to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

In this function, you will:

 

•    Drive a “Zero Incident” Safety Culture by leading initiatives focused on machine guarding compliance, electrical safe work practices, confined space entry protocols, and lockout/tagout standards to cultivate a proactive safety environment.
•    Develop site-specific annual safety and environmental objectives. Guide employee-led safety teams, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, oversee emergency response protocols, and serve as chair of the site safety committee.
•    Manage compliance for facility changes by partnering cross-functionally to ensure facility upgrades and capital projects adhere to PROLaunch and MESH “Change Management” guidelines. Provide support for building and grounds-related projects within Operational Excellence.
•    Provide leadership and guidance to functional managers and their employees for investigations of accidents and near misses, identify root causes, track trends, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
•    Oversee assigned OSHA and other training programs, including but not limited to proper PPE usage, powered industrial truck safety, first aid/CPR, machine operation safety, confined space entry, hazard communication, contractor safety, and other relevant topics.
•    Ensure accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics and closure of assigned MESH and regulatory agency findings and assist with intermediate communication with public/government authorities; assist in providing guidance and leading resolutions actions during crises as needed.
•    Compile and analyze MESH data for capturing in Eaton’s Safety database to include corrective action tracking and MESH scoring as assigned, including the review of the site's Workstation Risk Assessment Program.
•     Coordinate recycling programs, Zero-Waste-to-Landfill initiatives, and other environmental impact reduction strategies to support the site sustainability goals.
•    Actively engage with operational teams to ensure compliance with all applicable EHS standards and policies through daily presence, employee engagement, and audits. 
•    Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

 

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

•    High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) from an accredited institution with 3 years of experience in Environmental, Health, Safety, & Security OR an Associate's Degree from an accredited institution. 
•    Understanding of basic EHS principles and tools, including but not limited to safe work practices, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving. 
•    Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Certified in First Aid and CPR.
•    Proficient in safety data management platforms for tracking, analyzing, and reporting EHS metrics and compliance status.
•    Experienced in facilitating training sessions. 
•    Experienced working in warehousing environments, with strong understanding of operational workflows, safety protocols, and hands-on hazard awareness.
